Former President Ranil Wickremesinghe has promised the formation of a new United National Party (UNP) with new faces.<\/p>\n
Speaking at an event to meet the new local council members of the UNP, Wickremesinghe said that a committee formed by the UNP will select the new members to be given more responsibilities in the party.<\/p>\n
He said that following the recently concluded Local Government elections there was now a need to form a new UNP.<\/p>\n
The UNP Leader said that the results from the election showed that new faces are now needed in the party.<\/p>\n
Wickremesinghe recalled that there were times in the past when the UNP underwent several changes.<\/p>\n
