{"id":1368,"date":"2025-09-10T19:39:47","date_gmt":"2025-09-10T14:09:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thulirvu.com\/?p=1368"},"modified":"2025-09-10T19:39:47","modified_gmt":"2025-09-10T14:09:47","slug":"protective-embankment-built-at-site-of-fatal-ella-wellawaya-accident","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vanninet.com\/?p=1368","title":{"rendered":"Protective embankment built at site of fatal Ella-Wellawaya accident..!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A protective embankment was constructed today (10) at the 15th milepost on the Ella-Wellawaya main road, where 15 persons were killed and 18 others injured in a tragic bus accident last week, Uva Province Governor\u2019s Counsel, Attorney-at-Law Kapila Jayasekara said.<\/p>\n<p>The accident occurred on the night of September 4 when a bus carrying Tangalle Urban Council employees and their families on a picnic plunged about 1,000 feet into a ravine.<\/p>\n<p>Governor Jayasekara noted that several fatal accidents had occurred at this location in the past.
