Parents have staged a protest today demanding the resolution of the ongoing shortage of teachers at Kovil Puliyankulam Muthamizh Vidyalayam in Vavuniya North Zone.
Despite repeatedly informing the Zonal Education Office Vavuniya North and the Provincial Education Ministry about this issue, no solution has been provided so far. As a result, the students are severely affected.
Therefore, the public engaged in a demonstration, urging the authorities to immediately address the shortage of teachers.
When contacted regarding the protest, the Vavuniya North Zonal Education Director stated that the issue would be resolved soon.
Meanwhile, several teachers who were serving in Vavuniya North have left the zone and even the teaching service altogether due to retaliatory actions and extreme pressure from the Vavuniya north Zonal Director of education. In some cases, teachers have been transferred to other zones with the support of the secretary, resulting in the wastage of teacher resources in Northern province.
Even though this matter has been brought to the attention of the Governor, no action has been taken until now. Northern province, which operates under the influence of a Tamil Minister, currently ranks 9th out of the 9 provinces in srilanka and Vavuniya north Zone 96th out of 100 zones over all.
The Northern province Governor need to take action immediately if Not fail all.
