The gazette under which the levy charged from casino owners will be increased to 18 per cent from the existing 10 per cent with effect from October 1 this year was tabled in Parliament by Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya today.
The entrance fees charged from a Sri Lankan citizen will be increased to USD 100 from the current USD 50.
The entrance fees for foreigners have not been increased by the gazette.
This will give legal effect to the 2025 budget proposal to increase the casino levy and entrance fees.
