Ramanathan Archuna MP created havoc in Parliament today by objecting the decision of the chair to allow Deputy Minister Arun Hemachandra to raise a point of order.
“An MP can raise a point of order as per standing order only if another MP refers to him by name. What happened just now is that you gave the opportunity to Deputy Minister Hemachandra to raise a point though his name was never mentioned. Only a Cabinet Minister can raise a point of order even if he is not referred to by name,” the MP said.
