Elections Commissioner Saman Sri Ratnayake retired from state service..!

Commissioner General of Elections Saman Sri Ratnayake has retired from his post and from state service, effective today (13).

Issuing a statement, Ratnayake announced that he is stepping down after 34 years of service in the state sector.

He was appointed as the Commissioner General of Elections on 16th October 2019 and has since played a leading role in conducting national and local elections during his tenure.

In his statement, Ratnayake expressed gratitude to all former and current Presidential Secretaries, officials of state institutions, ministers, Parliamentarians, and media personnel who supported him in fulfilling his duties.
